goMDnow's $99 covers the random pool, MRO review and Clearinghouse support, and it sells drug and alcohol tests, Return-to-Duty and follow-up testing, DOT physical scheduling, MVR ordering and online training courses. These are the items we did not find on gomdnow.com, or found without a price (checked October 14, 2026).
Driver qualification files
No DQF software or service on gomdnow.com. Every carrier must keep a file for every driver (49 CFR § 391.51); Vertical Identity includes DQF Pro in the membership.
MVR price
MVR ordering is offered ("Request MVR Report", gomdnow.com/mvr-services), with no price published. The MVR is required at hire and every year (49 CFR § 391.23, § 391.25).
PSP and CDLIS reports

Criminal background check

BOC-3 and UCR filings
Not found on gomdnow.com. A BOC-3 is required for interstate operating authority (49 CFR Part 366), and UCR registration every year for interstate carriers.
Compliance is 23 line items, not one enrollment fee. If the driver files and the pre-hire reports live with another vendor, you are managing two programs.
What does Vertical Identity include that goMDnow does not offer?
Vertical Identity is a Phoenix-based Consortium / Third-Party Administrator (C/TPA) registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse, serving owner-operators and motor carriers in all 50 states. Membership is $85 a year for the first driver and $25 a year for each additional driver, or $295 a year flat for unlimited drivers, with DQF Pro driver qualification files and the drug testing program included. Everything else is ordered when needed at published prices: DOT drug tests at $69, MVRs from $14.25 by state (member rate), PSP reports at $20, CDLIS reports at $10, criminal background checks at $39, DOT physical exam ordering at $129, supervisor / DER training at $55 per seat, and our C/TPA designation in the Clearinghouse at no charge.
goMDnow sells a $99/year DOT consortium membership for unlimited drivers covering random pool enrollment, MRO services, Clearinghouse management and reporting support, electronic reporting and access to 25,000+ collection sites. Vertical Identity's tests are $10.95 less each ($69 vs $79.95), while goMDnow's flat $99 leaves it about $31 lower on a typical solo year's testing bill and about $51 lower for three drivers, before supervisor training. goMDnow offers MVR ordering without a published price, and we found no driver qualification files, PSP or CDLIS reports, or criminal background checks on its site. Vertical Identity includes the driver files and prices the rest in one member portal, so a carrier can total the whole year before enrolling.

Solo driver: goMDnow is $31 lower on the testing bill. Vertical Identity includes driver files, which goMDnow does not offer.
Scenario one is a single-driver year: enroll, register with the Clearinghouse and run the pre-employment query, train one supervisor, run the pre-employment test and one random draw (about what a solo driver averages when the 50% rate is applied across a consortium pool). Scenario two is a three-driver carrier: three pre-employment tests, the queries, and random tests at the FMCSA minimum rates of 50% for drugs and 10% for alcohol (49 CFR § 382.305(b)), counted as two drug tests and one alcohol test. goMDnow's $99 covers unlimited drivers. Its supervisor course is sold in its Training Academy and is not totaled here, and it does not offer driver qualification file software.

On the testing bill, goMDnow's flat $99 is the lower number, and it sells Return-to-Duty and follow-up testing, DOT physical scheduling, MVR ordering and an online supervisor course. No. We found no driver qualification file (DQF) software or service on gomdnow.com: its $99/year membership covers the random pool, MRO services, Clearinghouse management and reporting support, and discounted test pricing, and its site map has no DQF page (checked October 14, 2026). Vertical Identity includes DQF Pro, its driver qualification file system, in the $85/year membership, and you order drug tests, MVRs, PSP and CDLIS reports, and criminal background checks from the same portal at published prices.
Is Vertical Identity a real consortium, or a reseller?
Vertical Identity is a Consortium / Third-Party Administrator (C/TPA) registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse. We hold our own accounts with SAMHSA-certified laboratories and a nationwide network of more than 20,000 DOT collection sites, and our members order through our portal at the $69 member rate. Nothing is resold through a middle layer.
How do I switch from goMDnow to Vertical Identity?
Enroll online at members.verticalidentity.com/enroll in about five minutes. Your same-day Certificate of Enrollment lands in your inbox; then notify goMDnow in writing of the termination date for your existing program. Random testing history transfers under FMCSA rules — your driver does not "reset" their compliance clock. You should never have a coverage gap (a single day without an active consortium puts you out of compliance with 49 CFR Part 382).
Does Vertical Identity offer operating authority filings?
Vertical Identity offers UCR filings (from $95, by fleet size and filing season) and BOC-3 process-agent filing ($59). We do not currently file new USDOT numbers, MC/MX motor carrier authority, broker authority, freight forwarder authority, hazmat permits, MCS-150 biennial updates, or SCAC codes — our focus is driver-side compliance: consortium, Clearinghouse, MVR, PSP, criminal background checks, DOT physicals, and supervisor training. Does Vertical Identity offer a do-it-yourself Clearinghouse path?
Yes. As a member, we're your C/TPA in the Clearinghouse at no charge: you register on the FMCSA Clearinghouse portal yourself and designate us, using our instructions. If you'd rather have help, the paid Clearinghouse Enrollment Setup ($199) is white-glove: we do it with you on a shared screen, because the login.gov sign-in has to happen with you present. Queries are ordered per driver at $12 each (our fee); the FMCSA query credit is separate and is bought in your own Clearinghouse account. goMDnow bundles Clearinghouse management and reporting into its $99/yr consortium membership rather than offering a separate setup or query product.
What does Vertical Identity charge for supervisor training compared to goMDnow?
Vertical Identity's Supervisor / DER Training is $55 per seat, the reasonable-suspicion training every supervisor of a CDL driver must complete, including an owner-operator acting as their own DER (49 CFR § 382.603). goMDnow also sells a reasonable-suspicion supervisor course in its online Training Academy (gomdnow.com/training-academy), with a 30% discount for its consortium members.
